Seagulls Get Clutch Win, 3-2
|
The first-place San Francisco Seagulls took on the Dallas Wranglers in front of a spirited crowd.
In a low-scoring contest between the San Francisco Seagulls and the Dallas Wranglers, Jerry Patrick was the X factor. The San Francisco right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Dave Maughan was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Frank Dunn.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Matt Legrow came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Dallas pitcher Frank Dunn, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting San Francisco on top, 3-2.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Patrick.
The losing streak for Dallas has now reached 4 games.
