San Francisco Slaps 3-2 Loss on Twin Cities
|
Both teams had their chances, but the San Francisco Seagulls eventually prevailed.
In a tight tilt between the San Francisco Seagulls and the Twin Cities Northmen, Jerry Patrick was the deciding factor. The San Francisco right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Patrick got the win, improving to 13-5. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
San Francisco used a timely hit from Don Johnson to get the win. The first baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Seagulls ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
With the victory, the Seagulls upped their record to 64-52.
