Atlanta pitcher Gary Ovitt had a large part in his team subduing the Boston Terriers, 6-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Atlanta has a record of 58-56, placing them third in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.
The Generals got a big at-bat from right fielder Richie Lord. For the game, Lord was 1-5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Atlanta a 1-0 lead.
