The Los Angeles Blockbusters beat the Chicago Traders, 6-3, at Blockbuster Stadium. Los Angeles left fielder Ernie Ronnebaum had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Larry Mitchell, who finished 2nd in the NBL in strikeouts with 173 last year, was the winner. He's now 2-6. The loser was Larry Cox. The Traders, now 54-63, have lost 4 in a row.
Jim Brookins hit a 3-run home run off Larry Cox in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Blockbusters ahead, 5-3. In addition to the homer, Brookins had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
