The umbrellas came out during the Houston-Los Angeles contest at San Vicente Park.

Due in large part to center fielder Mark Sisson, the Houston Drillers sunk the Los Angeles Pobladores, 13-5. Sisson was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Drillers, at 60-57, have now won 6 straight.

Randy Barnes had a big 2-run double for the Drillers in the top of the first inning. With Houston leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from Dave Wynn, who is tied for 8th in the ABL in complete games with 4, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Drillers ahead, 3-0.

Said Drillers manager Tom Harrington: "We're playing a good brand of baseball."
