Panetta Delivers Walk-Off Win for Explorers
Despite a great performance by Los Angeles right fielder Oscar Gonzalez, the St. Louis Explorers defeated the Blockbusters by the score of 5-4 at Corps of Discovery Stadium. Gonzalez went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The win went to Bernie Tate in relief, making him now 5-5. Jerry Pederson took the loss for Los Angeles. The 6th-place Explorers have a record of 54-64.

Chuck Panetta was the walk-off hero for St. Louis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Explorers left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We take it day by day here," said Panetta, "and today was a good one for us."
