Cardenas Electric in 4-1 Win
|
Bruce Cardenas never let the Burros get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Explorers to a win, 4-1. Earning his 1st save of the year was Don Dalton. The win brings the Explorers to 3-9, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
Cardenas made it look easy. He scattered 5 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 14 strikeouts. The right-hander upped his season record to 1-2.
"I thought we played a nice game," Cardenas told the St. Louis Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
