Multi-HR Game for Cassill in 9-3 Win
|
Washington left fielder Alan Cassill was instrumental in helping the Eagles triumph, 9-3, over the New York Knickerbockers. Cassill went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Washington, now 51-67, holds down 6th place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.
With Washington leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Cassill hit a sinker from Vern Gould for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 3-0.
"We came out aggressive," said Eagles manager Brandon Tucker. "We came out swinging the bats."
