Pobladores Lose to Northmen, 4-1
|
Twin Cities pitcher Jeff Jordan had a large part in his team beating the Los Angeles Pobladores, 4-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The triumph puts Twin Cities at 64-53 for the season.
Emil Wathen had a big 3-run home run for the Northmen in the bottom of the first inning. With Twin Cities leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a changeup from Dan Turner, who is tied for 7th in the ABL with a 1.01 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Northmen on top, 4-0.
"Bottom line," said Los Angeles skipper Kurt Peterson, "we didn't play well enough to win."
