The Los Angeles Pobladores used an offensive barrage to beat the Houston Drillers, 12-1, at Sam Houston Field. John Fine, who is a three-time All-Star, led the way, going 3-for-6 for Los Angeles. The 4th-place Pobladores lifted their record to 62-54.

With Los Angeles leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Fine hit a sinker from Angel Colon for a run-scoring double. It was his 17th double of the season and put the Pobladores ahead, 2-0.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Fine.
