Seagulls Squeeze By Seattle, 5-4
San Francisco Seagulls starter Tim Stambaugh found his groove in his team's 5-4 win over the Seattle Emeralds. Archie Sereni picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 9-5. Carroll Reynolds was tagged with the loss. The Seagulls now have a record of 65-52.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 27-year old shortstop Chuck Roberts had a chance to be the hero. Seattle pitcher Carroll Reynolds wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Roberts hit a sacrifice fly. The Seagulls had themselves a thrilling win.

"We're one win closer to our goal," Roberts said in postgame remarks.
