Habitants Take Tight Tangle
|
The Montreal Habitants earned a win at LaSalle Stadium, knocking off the Twin Cities Northmen, 4-3. On the bump for Montreal was left-hander Bob Schar. He had a starring role in the triumph. Schar got the win, improving to 10-11. He gave up 8 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Montreal is now 58-59, Twin Cities 49-68.
Daniel Chavez hit a 2-run double off Bob Cole in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Habitants in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Chavez had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Twin Cities skipper Jason Gudim, "and it cost us."
