Chicago Slaps 6-1 Loss on Kansas City
|
Chicago pitcher Skip Crawford had a large part in his team subduing the Kansas City Bulls, 6-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. In 7 innings, Crawford surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Traders lead the National Baseball League Western Division by 4 games.
Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Ed White to capture the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Traders ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Skip showed what he's made of," said Chicago manager Larry Link.
