The Chicago Traders besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Kansas City catcher Elijah Barnes by beating the Bulls, 7-3, at Independence Field. Barnes hit 2 home runs. Chicago has run its win streak to 5 in a row.

Chicago used a well-timed hit by Walt McCord to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Traders ahead, 5-3. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Kansas City manager DD Martin.
