Seagulls Get Past Houston for 5-4 Win
Both teams had their chances, but the San Francisco Seagulls eventually prevailed.

San Francisco second baseman Don Johnson helped his team beat the Houston Drillers, 5-4. Johnson, who finished 2nd in the ABL in wins above replacement with 8.3 in 1969, went 2 for 3 for the Seagulls. San Francisco improves to 72-46 with the win. They lead their division by 7 games.

Matt Legrow was the walk-off hero for San Francisco. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Seagulls left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I like our mindset right now," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
