Northmen Roll Past Seagulls, 7-2
|
The San Francisco Seagulls went down to defeat to Gerald Gross and his Twin Cities teammates. The final score was 7-2, in favor of the Northmen. With the win, Twin Cities has a record of 54-64. San Francisco falls to 77-42.
David Davalos had a big 2-run home run for the Northmen in the bottom of the third inning. With Twin Cities leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a forkball from Dennis Fulton, who finished 5th in the NBL in innings pitched with 254.0 in 1962, and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Northmen on top, 4-1.
"I'm happy we won," said Gross. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
