Eagles Win with Late Heroics
The Washington Eagles electrified the home crowd with a walk-off win.

The Washington Eagles battled the New York Knickerbockers into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Eagles won it, finally, 5-4, in 11 innings. In the game, Washington center fielder Jeff Lawler went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Knickerbockers, at 58-60, have lost 4 in a row.

The Eagles got a clutch hit from catcher Jesus Olvera. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Eagles.
