Chavez Goes 5-for-5
No matter what the Cincinnati Packers threw at him, Carlos Chavez hit it. He easily handled Packers pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Industrials triumph, 9-4, at Allegheny Field.

"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.

Told of Chavez's quip, Packers skipper Martin Abresch said he "would take him up on that next time."

Carlos Chavez tripled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Jerry Meek in the 7th.

On the year, Chavez is hitting .297 with 94 hits, 6 home runs, 30 RBIs, .349 OBP and has scored 38 runs.
