The Atlanta Generals beat the Baltimore Lords, 4-3, in part because of third baseman Zach Hodge. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Dick McCranie claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 4-4. The losses continue to mount for Baltimore, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Hodge broke a deadlock in the top of the ninth inning, when he hit a sacrifice fly, putting Atlanta up, 4-3.
"We've been playing some good baseball," Hodge told the Atlanta Times. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
