Quakers Down Industrials, 6-5
|
Pittsburgh third baseman Tim Grange had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Grange went 3 for 7 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice, even as Philadelphia beat the Industrials, 6-5. Philadelphia reliever Jeff Peachtree picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tommy Robinson shouldered the loss. The Industrials, now 4-7, continue their sluggish start.
The Quakers relied on second baseman Tim Hunt for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 14th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"Big win," said Hunt.
