Packers Win with Late Heroics
|
The Cincinnati Packers snuck past the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 1-0, in 18 innings. Cincinnati pitcher Kenny Foster, in particular, had a standout performance. Rich Pedersen, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Cincinnati now sits at 52-68, while Brooklyn falls to 58-61.
The decisive blow was delivered by Daniel Salas in the bottom of the 18th when he hit a run-scoring double off 12-year veteran Dick Conway to win the game for Cincinnati. The home crowd went nuts.
"At least I did my job," Foster said.
