Bobby Strange had a good game, but he could not keep the Chicago Hawks from falling, 6-5, to the Dallas Wranglers at Bluff Park. The Chicago left fielder was 3-5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs in the loss. The win for the Wranglers lifted their record to 68-52.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Dallas. That's when Mike Shreve hit a solo home run off 30-year old right-handed pitcher Don McCoy to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager William Albrecht.
