There was no shortage of dramatics at Atlantic Avenue Grounds.
Baltimore got a decent performance from pitcher Kenny Wilson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Boston Terriers. Boston won the Atlantic Avenue Grounds contest, 4-3. Wilson threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. The winner was Boston reliever Layton Taylor, now 4-7. The loser was Gilberto Rivera.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Boston right fielder Jeff Whitlock, facing Gilberto Rivera, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Terriers the 4-3 win.
Whitlock attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
The win puts the Terriers at 49-72, while the Lords drop to 66-53.
