Drillers Pop Northmen, 9-0
|
The Houston Drillers defeated the Twin Cities Northmen, 9-0, at Twin Cities Stadium. Houston was led by fan favorite Mark Sisson, who was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Angel Colon, the winning pitcher, is now 10-6. He went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 4 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 5. Twin Cities's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
Houston used the hitting of Jackie Frost to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Drillers on top, 2-0. For the game, Frost had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Jason Gudim, the Twin Cities manager.
