Drillers Rally Late to Nip Hawks
Starting pitcher Syed Farooqi gave the Houston Drillers a rock-solid effort. The New York native helped his team defeat the Chicago Hawks, 2-1, at Sam Houston Field. The winning pitcher was Farooqi, now 12-5. He tossed 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 12. Houston now sports a record of 62-59.

Armando Amador was the walk-off hero for Houston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Drillers first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Syed was able to execute his pitches," said Houston manager Steven Palps. "Simple as that."
