Cincinnati Downs Washington, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Cincinnati Packers and the Washington Eagles, Art Ledington, who is tied for 8th in the NBL in quality starts with 19, proved to be the difference. The Cincinnati right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Packers win. Roger Isaacs recorded the save, making him 4 for 5. After today's action, Cincinnati sits at 58-64; Washington slips to 50-73.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Mark St. Jean? The Cincinnati center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Packers on top, 2-0. For the game, St. Jean had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We did enough to win," said St. Jean.
