Drillers Defeat Northmen, 4-3
|
The Houston Drillers picked up a win at Twin Cities Stadium, dropping the Twin Cities Northmen, 4-3, in 12 innings. Larry Bilski, who leads the ABL in strikeouts with 171, was the difference-maker. The winner in relief was Larry Clarke. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 5-2. Twin Cities now owns a losing streak of 6 games.
Mark Sisson, who is tied for 5th in the ABL in stolen bases with 28, had a direct impact on the outcome. Sisson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning to put Houston up, 4-3.
"It took some blood and sweat, but we got what we were after," said Drillers manager Tom Harrington.
