Hawks Stumble, Lose to Lords
The Baltimore Lords defeated the Chicago Hawks, 9-2, in American Baseball League action at Seton Hill Stadium. Bobby Capps pulled his weight. The 7-year veteran was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2. The winning pitcher was former first round draft pick Larry Diego. He tossed 100 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The win makes Baltimore 64-56.

John Balliet had a big 2-run double for the Lords in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Baltimore leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Mike Haskett and swatted a double to right. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lords ahead, 5-2.

"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Capps after the game.
