Knickerbockers 5-3 Winners Over Cleveland
New York and Cleveland duked it out and the Knickerbockers came out victorious.

The New York Knickerbockers beat the Cleveland Bobcats, 5-3, at Lakefront Stadium. New York second baseman Steve Wright had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Wayne Houston earned the save for New York, his 12th of the year.

With New York leading 3-1 in the top of the fifth, Wright hit a changeup from Bruce Cardenas for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Knickerbockers ahead, 5-1.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Wright.
