Empires Top Hurons, 7-0, Behind Stanford

The New York Empires racked up a win at Dominion Field, bumping off the Toronto Hurons, 7-0. Larry Stanford, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. The Empires bumped their record to 61-60 with this latest triumph.
The Empires liked what they saw from Stanford. The 22-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Hurons to no runs on 2 hits over 8 innings, and striking out 3.
"I had everything working," said Stanford.
