|
Houston Drillers pitcher Randy Robins was in fine form, leading his team past the Chicago Hawks, 6-0. Robins got the win, improving to 7-9. He gave up 8 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Bill Switzer earned the save for Houston, his 14th.
With Houston leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Robins hit a run-scoring single off Chicago hurler Johnny Russell. It was the 11th hit of the season for Robins and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Robins.
Houston goes to 63-59, Chicago to 36-87.
