Emeralds Slap 2-1 Loss on Drillers

Dick Knight, who is tied for 5th in the ABL with a 2.32 ERA, pitched well, but the Houston Drillers still fell short, losing, 2-1, to the Seattle Emeralds at Sam Houston Field. Phil Moore got the save, his 17th in 20 chances. Today's win puts Seattle at 56-65, while Houston falls to 67-56.
Mark Sullivan had a direct impact on the outcome. Sullivan contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Seattle up, 2-0.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Sullivan.
