Habitants Need Extra Frames to Get Past Terriers
|
Daniel Chavez batted in 3 runs to lead Montreal to a win over Boston. The final score was 11-6. Chavez chipped in 2 singles and 1 home run. Mel Calef picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Marvin Walton suffered the loss. Montreal goes to 71-50. The win puts them 4 games up in their division.
Jerry Sullivan drew 2 walks in 6 plate appearances for Montreal. The fan favorite had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring walk off Marvin Walton. It was his 56th walk of the season.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Habitants manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
