Industrials Rack Up 7-4 Win Versus Brooklyn
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials defeated the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 7-4, in National Baseball League action at Allegheny Field. Pittsburgh pitcher Dennis Visco had a standout performance. In 9 innings, Visco surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. He allowed 4 runs. Pittsburgh is now 74-49, 2½ games up in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.
Rob Isenbarger had a big 2-run triple for the Industrials in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Pittsburgh leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Antonio Valerio and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 10th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Industrials ahead, 5-1.
Isenbarger offered a curt "no comment" when asked to discuss the win after the game.
