Northmen Win Pitchers' Duel, 2-1, Versus Seagulls
|
The Twin Cities Northmen eked out a 2-1 win versus the San Francisco Seagulls at Twin Cities Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Gerald Gross. He was terrific. The 5th-place Northmen have won 4 straight games.
Carl Jacobs, who is tied for 7th in the ABL in extra base hits with 40, chipped in a run-scoring single for Twin Cities in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We did just enough to win," Jacobs said.
