Traders Stumble, Lose to Explorers
The St. Louis Explorers defeated the Chicago Traders, 8-2, in National Baseball League action at Union Field. Tommy Pickett pulled his weight. The 9-year veteran was 2-4 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The St. Louis win streak is now 3 games.

With St. Louis leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Pickett hit a cutter from Larry Cox for a 2-run triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and put the Explorers ahead, 3-0.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Pickett. "And not try to do too much."
