4-3 Win Takes Empires to 8-5
The 4-3 New York win over Baltimore was due largely to Rick Lintner. The Empires third baseman went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Larry Stanford got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Losses have been rare for the Lords, who are now 10-2.

Lintner had a timely hit for New York in the top of the seventh. With New York trailing 3-1, he turned a 2-2 cutter into a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 4-3, New York.
