Cleveland had no answer for New York Knickerbockers starter Tim Fried, who flummoxed Bobcats hitters as the Knickerbockers cruised to victory, 10-0. Fried picked up the win for New York, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 11-7. The defeat makes Cleveland 65-58.

New York third baseman Steve Wells contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a splitter to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 127th hit of the season and put the Knickerbockers ahead, 3-0.

"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said New York skipper Sean Kelly.
