Willie Purter pitched a dandy of a game to help the Denver Burros beat the Milwaukee Dairymen, 3-1. In 6.2 innings, Purter surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Tom Reid converted his 1st save in 1 tries.

In the top of the ninth, Jessie Barron stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Dairymen were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Tom Reid made a terrific pitch and Barron lined out. Gone was the dream of a Milwaukee comeback.
