The Kansas City Bulls beat the New York Knickerbockers, 6-5, at Independence Field. The Bulls got a fine performance from left fielder Chris Taylor, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Kansas City reliever Andy Luce picked up the win, raising his record to 3-6. Bruce Owen was tagged with the loss. Kansas City goes to 56-69, New York to 69-54.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Taylor hit a curveball from Bruce Owen for a solo home run. The Bulls, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Taylor said in his postgame press conference.
