Toronto Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Toronto Hurons starter Mike Beers was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the Chicago Hawks, 3-2. Joe Scott, now 7-5, was credited with the win in 0.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The win makes Toronto 56-67.
Emanuel Santiago was the walk-off hero for Toronto. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hurons catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"What an ending!" said a jubilant Santiago.
