Wolverines Win, 7-4, Versus Boston
The Detroit Wolverines battled the Boston Terriers into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Wolverines won it, finally, 7-4, in 14 innings. In the game, Detroit second baseman Bob Lutz went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Basil Anderson, now 4-6, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. The third-place Wolverines have won 4 consecutive games.

Detroit won the game in part because of Luis Banda. The catcher ripped a solo home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Wolverines ahead, 5-4. For the game, Banda had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
