Fontanez Now 8-9 After Beating Quakers
|
The Los Angeles Blockbusters topped the Philadelphia Quakers, 2-0, in National Baseball League action at Quakers Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Los Angeles pitcher and GuamĂșchil, Mexico, native Dario Fontanez. Tom Benson notched his 21st save in 26 chances. Los Angeles is now 57-68, Philadelphia 73-51.
Fontanez allowed no runs on 5 hits over 8.2 innings for the Blockbusters. He walked 2 and struck out 7.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Fontanez.
