Seagulls Earn 2-1 Win Versus Wranglers
|
The San Francisco Seagulls had to overcome a fine effort from Dallas pitcher Steve Coomes to win, 2-1, at Mission Field. Coomes went 8 innings and allowed no runs. Archie Sereni got credit for the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The loss makes the Wranglers 5-8.
Chuck Roberts was the walk-off hero for San Francisco. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Seagulls pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Dallas skipper William Albrecht, "and it cost us."
