Wranglers Prevail, 4-3, Over Boston
|
Dallas Wranglers starter Dan Crumm found his groove in his team's 4-3 win over the Boston Terriers. In 7.1 innings, Crumm surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Frank Dunn earned his 21st save in 23 tries.
Dallas catcher Terry Meola contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 92nd hit of the season and put the Wranglers ahead, 2-0.
Boston manager Phil Palapa, after yet another defeat, remained upbeat. He said: "We're going to get out of this thing, we're going to come busting through."
The Terriers, now 59-64, have lost 8 in a row.
