The New York Knickerbockers picked up a win at Independence Field, dropping the Kansas City Bulls, 7-3. Ray Schifsky, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1966 draft, was the difference-maker. With the win, the Knickerbockers hiked their record to 68-57.

Francisco Chavez, who finished 4th in the NBL in RBI with 81 in 1967, helped out the New York cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
