San Francisco shortstop Gail Bishop made his presence felt in the 6-4 Seagulls triumph over the New York Empires. Bishop went 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. San Francisco is now 83-44, New York 72-54.
Bob Raab, who led the ABL in RBI with 89 in 1967, helped out the San Francisco cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
