The Kansas City Bulls picked up a win at Independence Field, downing the New York Knickerbockers, 5-1. On the mound for Kansas City was right-hander Waldo Hardaway, who played a pivotal role in the win. The second-place Bulls have won 6 consecutive games.
Ken Durick, who is tied for 6th in the NBL in extra base hits with 46, came through for Kansas City with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the fifth. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 4 runs batted in.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Hardaway.
