New York Slaps 4-2 Loss on Kansas City
The New York Knickerbockers topped the Kansas City Bulls, 4-2, in National Baseball League action at Knickerbocker Stadium. The standout performance belonged to New York pitcher and Guamúchil, Mexico, native Dario Fontanez. Reliever Brian Williams picked up the win. His record improves to 8-4. Dennis Greenlee, who is tied for 7th in the NBL in wins with 11, took the loss. The loss makes Kansas City 69-57.

New York took a 3-2 lead on Dave Lester's 24th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Lester hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kansas City pitcher Dennis Greenlee visibly frustrated.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Fontanez. "Successful pitchers do it."
