Late Rally Earns Boston 6-4 Win
|
Boston left fielder Miguel Preciado contributed significantly to his team's 6-4 win over the New York Empires. Preciado went 1 for 2 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Terriers. Reliever Tim Jepperson picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Pete Ragsdale, who finished 4th in the ABL in ERA with 1.98 in 1967, took the loss. Tim McGovern earned the save, his 1st.
Preciado had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Pete Ragsdale, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Terriers a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Preciado.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Preciado.
Boston is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 3rd win in 12 games.
