The Twin Cities Northmen rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher Edgar Trask to a win, beating the Seattle Emeralds, 2-1, at Twin Cities Stadium. The winning pitcher was Trask, now 6-12. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. The Northmen sport a record of 51-74.

Pete Walker, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1971 draft, took Seattle hurler Mike Harris deep in the bottom of the fourth. His solo home run put the Northmen on top, 2-1. In all, Walker had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim.
