Slumping Blockbusters Lose 7th Straight
|
Los Angeles got a terrific performance from pitcher Joe Hamby, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cleveland Bobcats. Cleveland won the Blockbuster Stadium contest, 3-1. Hamby threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Joe Hutto converted his 2nd save in 2 tries. Cleveland has 4 straight wins, Los Angeles 7 straight losses.
Ray Gardner had a direct impact on the outcome. Gardner contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Cleveland up, 3-1.
"Watch and learn," said Gardner. "This is what good pitching looks like."
