Pobladores Suffer 10-7 Road Loss
The Toronto Hurons withstood an impressive performance by Los Angeles first baseman Ron Somers to defeat the Pobladores, 10-7, at Dominion Field. Somers belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Gary Marshall. He tossed 93 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits. The Hurons raised their record to 48-75.

Toronto pitcher Gary Marshall contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 1st hit of the season and put the Hurons ahead, 5-3.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Jim Burns said.
