The Los Angeles Pobladores defeated the Toronto Hurons, 12-0, in American Baseball League action at Dominion Field. Roger McCoy pulled his weight. The 11-year veteran went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Dave Wynn got the win, improving to 7-13. He worked 8.2 innings, giving up no runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 5. With the win, Los Angeles pushed its record to 65-61.
With Los Angeles leading 4-0 in the top of the fourth, McCoy came up to bat against Toronto pitcher Jerry Toups. McCoy hit a curveball to right for a grand slam home run. His 16th home run of the season put the Pobladores on top, 8-0.
"I really like what we did out there today," McCoy said after the game.
