Empires 7-1 Winners Over Houston
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Houston Drillers and New York Empires get after it.
New York turned a good effort from starter Jack Neenan into a win over the Houston Drillers at Queens Field. The Empires won the game, 7-1. The New York win streak is now 3 games.
Paul Brower went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for New York. The 31-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Jerry Zaruba. It was his 110th hit of the season.
"We had a nice day," said New York skipper Dan Whiting.
