Pobladores Drop Seagulls, 6-2
|
The Los Angeles Pobladores picked up a win at Mission Field, downing the San Francisco Seagulls, 6-2, in 12 innings. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Dan Turner, who played a pivotal role in the win. The win belonged to Rick Golia in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ray Brooks took the loss for San Francisco. The win moves Los Angeles to a record of 8-5.
Los Angeles needed the clutch hitting of Chuck Gunter to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a grand slam home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Pobladores on top, 6-2. For the game, Gunter had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Gunter.
