Nosediving Bobcats Drop 8th Straight
|
Vince Marshall was a vital contributor to the 6-4 Washington victory over Cleveland. The Eagles left fielder went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2. Ricky Grill recorded the save for Washington, his 2nd of the season. The losses continue to add up for Cleveland, having now dropped 8 straight.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Jesus Olvera came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Cleveland pitcher Joe Clabaugh, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Washington on top, 4-3.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Marshall crowed after the game.
