Eagles Deal Cleveland 4-2 Defeat
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Washington Eagles and Cleveland Bobcats.
Ed Cook impressed in the 4-2 Washington win over Cleveland. Cook, who finished 3rd in the NBL in batting average with .309 in 1965, was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. The win puts Washington at 45-81.
Early in the game, Cook had a 2-run double for Washington. It was his 18th double of the season and put the Eagles on top, 2-0.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Washington skipper Brandon Tucker. "I can't complain."
